A guest suite and a staff room are planned around independence: their own access, bathroom, ventilation and sound insulation. We cover layout, laundry and comfort for a stay of a week or two.

A home bar is planned as a separate zone next to the living room or terrace: water and drain, cooling, cigar ventilation and evening light are built in before the rough works.

A piano cannot be silenced with one layer of plasterboard: you need a room within a room, a vibration-absorbing floor and a stable climate with 45–70 % humidity. We cover floor, acoustics and neighbours.

A metre of books weighs 25–40 kg, and the Spanish code does not set a figure for library loads: they are determined in the design. We cover shelf, wall and floor calculations, UV-free light, humidity and a study inside the library.

Wabi-sabi is about imperfection and time, japandi about order and function. Which surfaces are needed, how to combine the style with Eixample mouldings and high ceilings, and how to avoid an empty room.

Good terrace lighting is built in layers: paths, plants, dining area, water. You need at least IP65, stainless steel by the sea, warm colour around 2200 to 2700 K and aimed beams that do not hit neighbours' windows.
